I wanted to pass on a good article that came up at a co-workers blogsite here on TechNet.com... The IT Pro team out of the UK have set up an "Industry Insiders" blog that they collaboratively work at updating articles of interest as well as have non MS persons post articles. I was perusing one of my RSS feeds and I noticed this post on NDS to AD migration.

http://blogs.technet.com/industry_insiders/articles/NDS_Migration.aspx

It's quite a nice, compact and informative article that outlays the major things you should think about for a migration as well as the "gotchya"s that can pop up. I really encourage you to go have a quick read.  It's written by one of Quest's SC managers (Darren Catteral) who's in charge of their Microsoft Solutions for EMEA. He talks about the manual process, automated "free MS tools" as well as some great value add tools Quest software provides to assist you with the migration.

I'm a firm believer in Quest tools - they have a great line up of products that assist with migration - but don't be fooled - it's only ONE small part of their value added line-up of software that will make your life MUCH easier as an IT Professional.

As one of a series of posts I have planned for the not to far off future - I plan on talking about some of my favorite tools (from a variety of software providers), how I've used them in my previous life as an IT Professional.  Heck - if you are interested - I'll even see if I can get some of the product managers to add in some of their valuable insight.

Stay Tuned - more to come![:)]
