In order to install and run the following Office 2007 suites or apps on a Windows Terminal Server

  • Access 2007
  • Excel 2007
  • InfoPath 2007
  • OneNote 2007
  • PowerPoint 2007
  • Word 2007
  • SharePoint Designer 2007

you must use a Volume License (VL) version and CD key.

Not doing so will result in the behavior described in KB article 924622 Error message when you try to start an Office 2007 program within a Terminal Server client session: "This copy of Microsoft Office <Program> cannot be used on Terminal Server" - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924622

For additional info on VL versions of Off2007, see the Microsoft Volume License Services website at http://licensing.microsoft.com and http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/resources/vol/default.mspx
