About Patrick Egloff's WebLog
Block Background
I started this blog in February 2006. There were several reasons for this: The MOM community is growing and I got in touch with more and more IT staff using the product.
With the addition of more products in the systems management disciplines like our new System Center releases I expect even more interest.
Instead of continue to notify each and everyone by personal email about interesting stuff in this space I've created this blog.
I'll try to blog as often as possible - on the other hand I do not want to mirror existing news sites and blog.
I'm very open to comments about content, update cycles and -obviously- our products. Please use the Contact page for this purpose or leave a comment.
Job Background
I started with Microsoft in 2004 as a Consultant in the Systems and Operations Management group here in Switzerland. Since then I had to chance to be part of many exciting projects in this space. I'm mainly focused on Microsoft Operations Manager and our new System Center products - with a good background on general infrastructure topics.
My job life started with as electronics engineer for our national airline, where I soon had to chance to move to their IT department. More and more moving away from hardware to software, I did my first MCSE certification and started focusing on Windows infrastructure topics.
During the next few years, I worked on and lead several large infrastructure projects and also got my first hands-on experience with MOM back in 2001. I've since been a strong supporter of it and love to work with it because there's such a wide array of products and technologies involved.
Personal Background
I grew up (and still live) in beautiful Switzerland, outside of our largest city on the border of Lake Zurich.
In my free time I enjoy listening to music and am a quite frequent concert-goer. Whenever time permits I love traveling and visit places all over the world.
