Kumulatives Update 2 für SQL Server 2008

Microsoft hat letzte Woche das Cumulative Update Package 2 für den SQL Server 2008 (Build 10.00.1779.00) veröffentlicht und den KB Artikel http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958186 entsprechend aktualisiert. Es enthält 70 behobene Fehler und 27 Änderungen durch Kundenwunsch.

Das SQL 2008 CU2 ist auf Anfrage im Rahmen Ihres Premier Support Vertrages erhältlich oder kann direkt über den KB Artikel heruntergeladen werden. Der Hotfix ist für alle Sprachen geeignet - nur die Plattform (x86, x64, IA64) ist zu wählen. Ebenso gibt es passend dazu den Hotfix für den SQL Native Client.

Note This build of the cumulative update package is also known as build 10.00.1779.00.

We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new fix release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 fix release. We recommend that you consider applying the most recent fix release that contains this hotfix.

Important notes about the cumulative update package

. SQL Server 2008 hotfixes are now multilanguage. Therefore, there is only one cumulative hotfix package for all languages.

. One cumulative hotfix package includes all the component packages. The cumulative update package updates only those components that are installed on the system.
