Ive been trying to explain to users in various forums that this game is designed to cope for many years to come. We all had performance issues with FS2004 when it came out due to the complexity of the software, and the then limited abilities of hardware. As Moore's Law shows us, hardware capabilites will increase exponentially over the coming months and years, and with the realease of DX10 hardware just round the corner we will see performance in FSX increase in line with it.

Sadly most computer users are not tech experts (though i am a software engineer myself :-) ), and will not understand the inner working of software like this; such as rendering and pixel count etc.

For the time being we are going to have to find that nirvana between performance vs framerate (as many of us have been doing for years with FS2004), and look forward to what FSX will be able to offer us in the future....

If anyone has doubts as to what FSX will bring and if it will be all its cracked up to be, look at how much you enjoy FS2004 and the addictiveness it brings with it. I for one have spent too much money to think about (because i might cry) trying to get FS2004 to run smoothly. I cant wait to see what the FSX will evolve into, and pilots everywhere shouldnt either :-)

Regards

Rob Macnair

As I stated in a post on the AVSIM forum, I promise not to complain about the framerate if someone could just tell me how to successfully install the program.

Then try a re-install.

One little bug that may have been found already is that Dodger Staduim in Los Angeles is in a sink hole! It's really weird looking

It always amazes me how emotional they get about all this, and how aggressive an environment we live in today.

I won't deny that FSX has more than its share of start-up trouble it seems, aggrevated by the (missing) link to Vista and DX10, but at the same time most of the sort of problems we see today are in essence the same as those going to FS2004, FS2002, FS2000, FS98 and so on. Most of them, too, WILL be solved one way or other.

I just wish people could be more civil in their (of ten justified) criticsm, and also cut developers and supporters some slack.... it takes time finding a solution to solve any given problem.
