New Slingers in town recommend Vista

I always get concerned with new operating systems when it comes to drivers. Call me an old cynic, people often do, but when I install a new operating system I know I'm going to have to hunt around for drivers. This can be even more challenging when it comes to running beta software such as the upcoming Windows Vista release. So it's great to see innovative gadgets already recommending Vista as part of the requirements. Take a look at the new Slingbox range from Sling Media, how cool is this stuff? If you are an AV gadget fan then this is going to be very interesting for you. Access your media anywhere in the world! Very nice!

On the topic of beta versions of Vista and Drivers you will be pleased to know I upgraded my home studio machine this week to the updated RC1 release build 5728 and it's perfect. I only had to locate one driver from the web and that was for the onboard wireless adaptor (well I will go for the all singing all dancing motherboard). Drivers for my M-Audio card are working fine, my hardware needed for my EMU X2 sampler is working fine and software from Cakewalk installed without a problem. This is great progress and can't wait to spend more time in my studio with this new setup. I'll keep you posted on how I get on.

If you are a Microsoft partner working on cool innovative gadget/software combined solutions then I'd like to hear from you. Please leave me a comment as I love to hear about this stuff.

Ok I'm off to write another important letter now. It begins, Dear Santa……….. (I think it's going to be a long list this year).
