Live Search Toolbar & JRE

Today, Microsoft and Sun announced the partnership to distribute the Live Search Bar tool when Installing Java Runtime Engine. To me this represents two things: a great example of partnership between two "used to be" distanced companies and the access for more Web users to an innovative set of experiences to achieve productive navigation in the web. How are you doing with the IT Chaos?

It happens from small to big business, family or personal IT labs at home, and of course depending on that size the complexity can go really wild.

I am talking about the spreading of servers, applications, client workstations, mobile machines, routers, devices, printers, and the list can go on at its peak when the manager, the boss or whomever is in charge of questioning: how do we get more efficient with current IT resources before we continue investing? or start a new planning cycle?, or reviewing what is really critical or not in order to optmize what IT has to provide services?. I am sure you won't even finish reading the whole TechNet details about MAP when you will be conviced in how much help this will do to you, your company or your customer when inventory and reporting assets available but not only that, you will also have system based recommendations on how to get your infrastrured optmized. Building my "Digital Dossier" ...starting at the middle

I am reading a wonderful book "Born Digital", which talks about the generation born after the 1980, The digital natives, how the authors call them.

Those who most probably are leaving behind their "Digital Dossier". As a parent, it is helping me be aware of all new and future challenges this and future generations are/will face, asking for a second thought on Identity, Privacy and safety to begin with. At the same time, it makes me realize My "Digital Dossier" is incomplete, good or bad?, maybe. I am not worry. As someone who works for a Software technology company though, it makes me think about not only important role the industry have in building all this digital lifestyle, but also even appreciating the good things towards building more secure, private and controlable software for these next generations.

Give it a try, I think you will like it and understan more the The digital natives

Have you checked IE8 Beta 1 yet?

I have just installed it...to be Beta 1, not bad, smother experience. Very visible the "7" Emulate IE7 button, more graphical on the Tools and Page menus, can go directly to you Live space from there. I also like the Quick tab button on the left top corner, easy way to thumbnail all you open tabs. I think you should try it yourself and see the evolution from Beta 1 until the its realease. I have always been one of those guys that when new technologies are coming, I want to know more about and digging waht is cool about it, how can I use it to really make a change in the way my servers, my desktops, my network, my IT Infrastructure can be move forward and stay reliable and perfoming at the expected levels. Many times of course I have dare to said said: " This is the next big thing for us", many have believed, many have not. Most of the times I have been glad that time proves me right. As when I started evangelizing on Windows NT and nobody wanted to accept it. I was not a MS employee though but I was sure the MS platform had a promise we all were about to ride!. Now it happens I am enjoying been part of the more vocal, creative and excited community of IT Pro Evangelists at Microsoft. So I want you to know all my peers at Microsoft IT Pro Evangelists around the world, doing amazing things for you to make our technologies a real touch on the technical aspects that really matter at the end: to make our IT job easier and more enjoyable.
