Taken forgranted already
It's incredible how quickly you can get used to a great new feature - and start to resent the limitations, rather than appreciating having it at all!
Take contextual spelling. Today I was writing the sentence, "I need to be able to provide complementary content on the website" but I couldn't remember which spelling - complimentary or complementary - was correct.
And my first response was to look for the wavy blue line - until I realised that either spelling could technically be considered correct.
Until the Beta release, contextual spelling wasn't available. Now, a mere 6 weeks later, I'm wanting it to read my mind!
And in answer to the query "why change the colour (from red to blue)": my guess is that this is to distinguish between words that are spelt incorrectly as opposed to words that are used incorrectly - so that you don't assume the spell-checker has made a mistake and ignore it.
