Running WSS on Windows Web Server 2008

Ever wanted a way to give anonymous access to information using a technology like SharePoint?

Earlier today I was discussing how Windows Web Server 2008 enables you to do just that.

The scenario is you have a bunch of information that you want to share and you don’t have the requirement to authenticate every single user.  The solution – Windows Web Server 2008 with Windows SharePoint Services installed.

As long as you don’t enable user authentication on the server there is no requirement for CALs.  Bingo – organized information for the masses!
