For those of you running Windows Small Business Server 2008, the connect computer does block Windows 7. If you are wanting to add Windows 7 to your domain for *testing purposes* then all you need to do is follow these steps.
Hit Start and right click Computer and select Properties
You should see a screen like this one (although yours will say workgroup not tarnick.local) Click change settings
On this next screen click change and then enter your domain name and hit ok. You should be prompted for a username and password – enter your domain admin’s credentials and then restart your computer. You won’t get the migration support but your Windows 7 machine will now be a member of your SBS domain.
