So it seems that every three years or so I go through some form of online identity metamorphosis.  So far I can count my gmail conversion once I joined Microsoft, and more recently the transition to my Small Business Server 2008 identity.

This lead me to consider how to merge these identities into one 'key-chain'. After a bit of research I found out that Windows Live IDs do in fact enable this function.

  1. imageNavigate to http://account.live.com
  2. Sign in with your legacy Windows Live ID
  3. imageNext navigate to settings on the right hand pane
  4. Select Linked IDs
  5. Click link an existing Windows Live ID
  6. imageComplete the link ID form
  7. imageThere you have it a linked ID!!

So what does this mean? Well now that I've signed in with one, all of the services I use are now combined into either identity.  This really simplifies things and means I won't need to send everyone another email saying I've changed again.
