Longhorn Web Chat: The Network Access Protection (NAP) Server

Published 02 April 07 05:10 PM | MS NAP Team

Network Policy Server (NPS) in Longhorn Server, formerly known as IAS, is the heart of Network Access Protection (NAP). NPS is the Microsoft implementation of a Remote Authentication Dial-in User Service (RADIUS) server. Besides acting as policy evaluation platform, it can be used to perform central connection authentication, authorization and accounting for many network access.

This web-chat will help discover the central role that NPS plays in various enterprise networking scenarios that will be enabled by Longhorn Server release. If you have any questions about NPS, like how to configure health policies for NAP, perform authentications (like EAP) for network access or develop authentication / authorization extensions for NPS - please come and talk with experts from our NPS engineering team.
