Microsoft Online Services Team Blog

Technical discussions on the Microsoft Online Services and the various aspects of each of these services.
Going Mobile with Microsoft Online Services

Mobile computing and mobile device connectivity is a more popular topic that generates questions for the Microsoft Online Services team. To help answer some of those questions, we’ve launched a Mobility Solutions page on the Microsoft Online Services Web site.

This site contains information about various mobile devices, including:

·         Mobility Solutions Description, providing background on all supported mobile devices

·         Windows Mobile devices

·         RIM BlackBerry devices

·         Exchange ActiveSynch devices, such as Nokia and Apple iPhone devices

The site also includes information about promotional offers.

Watch this Team Blog for follow up articles on instructions for setting up and configuring mobile devices to work with Microsoft Online Services.

The Online Services is fantastic and works extremely well for laptop and desktop, but I really need more info on how the install the Sign-on application on a mobile device. I wish to access a Sharepoint site I have created and all attempts to do so from a mobile device have failed. I am using a HP Ipaq which has no trouble accessing another hosted Sharepoint site I use. The links provided here are very good but I cannot find out about the sign-on application.

The sign in client does not work on a mobile phone. However, other than the combination of windows mobile + IE, customers should be able to use activesync enabled phones for email and to access sharepoint without a sign in client. The authentication for SP on a mobile phone will roll over from cert auth to basic auth.
