Microsoft Operations Framework Network Administration SMF

The MOF Network Administration Service Management Function (SMF) content just released in all its MOF-y goodness.

This service management function completes the suite of Operating Quadrant SMFs offered through the MOF process model. Network Administration focuses on guidance for operating and troubleshooting core network services, including DNS, WINS, and DHCP. It provides direct guidance, as well as compiling links to existing Microsoft Product Operating Guides - resulting in a comprehensive guidance set for managing network services in the Microsoft Windows Server environment.

The Network Administration SMF focuses on the following topics:

  • Best practices for troubleshooting network issues
  • The relationship between network administration, system administration, other Operating Quadrant SMFs, and the Supporting Quadrant Incident Management SMF.
  • References to fundamental network service Product Operating Guides.
