Nick fed us this vital bit of context as apparently the chap playing the tv presenter is actually the CEO of Channel 9, check it out:

In Australia everyone gets it more easily than others will for there is a sub context:
· The presenter is a guy called Eddie McGuire, and the show is on a channel called Channel 9 (one of the big 4)
· He also happens to be the CEO of Channel 9
· MSN in Australia is actually a joint venture between Channel 9 and Microsoft

Nice...expecting the Google response any minute :-)

We have seen this for a while now but have been keeping stum for obvious reasons - story is if you type 'search' in google you get directed to the Microsoft Live Search site. CNET took this story over to Google & got their official commemts which made me smile, read the full article here:

"This is a normal search result," Google said. "Search results change ranking fairly often. At this particular time, this is the result Google's automated technology has determined is the best answer for this specific query; in the future, our algorithms may determine that another website is better suited to be ranked in the first position for this query. This made me smile when I saw it....looks like the world is thinking Google and MS, and Hugh Macleod has placed a touch of humour around the theme:

So, too much chat about two competitors and not enough about the business value derived by the customer? Surely not I hear you cry! Well I guess it gets clicks or sells newspapers...this actually reminded me of a fact a jounalist from the Register once told me: "fact is a bad story about Microsoft gets 80% more hits than a positive story about Microsoft - so why would we print the good stuff?"
