Working in Microsoft for 22 years?

Sounds impossible but Mark who works in the same team as me has been working in Microsoft already for almost 18 years. 18 years! When he started in 1989 I was 9 years old. Microsoft Ireland has changed dramatically since that time: from box-packing and floppy-duplication factory into R&D and operations European centre. Amazing.

Last Saturday Pawel had birthday party and from one word to another we started talking about our careers and the longest time on one position. Lukasz was working for 4 years in one place. I didn't have such astonishing result, my best is only 16 months when I was in Dell in Dublin. Pawel mentioned surely I will be working in Microsoft forever. No idea why would anybody think that. Anyway, it's a great place to work and I have no plans neither intentions to leave any time soon.

I was wondering how many people started in Microsoft before 1989 and I found 20 in Ireland and 594 worldwide including the one who doesn't have any manager above him (tough question: who is he?).

Now, I'm wondering: how long have been working in your company?
