Interesting tidbits about Microsoft Infrastructure and other products. Occasional rants about travel, gaming and gadgets.
Someone from Google tried to recruit me

I got an interesting email from Charles Lenhard at Google wanting to know if I was interested in a position there.  What's more interesting is that I have never met anyone from Google and only know a handful of people in the Bay Area.  I really have no idea how they got my name and contact info, other than maybe from this blog.  In light of the recent press and lawsuits around Google recruiting practices, they have some serious cajones, and must be violating some real or ethical laws by sending it to my Microsoft account, right?

I am flattered, but I am also very happy with the work I do at Microsoft and am not looking to leave.  I am also glad to see the recent reorganization that we had, where my group ended up under Robbie Bach's leadership (Home, Xbox, Mobile Devices, MSTV, Communications Sector).  It seems like things are finally changing back to a more flexible, agile Microsoft rather than the large machine we were in danger of becoming.

Congratulation for the contact by I agree with you that Google is not too much correct by contacting people in these manners. However, this is a sign that you're doing a good job! :)
