I installed as user "A" who is a member of the local administrators on that box. I also installed VMRC+ 1.7 on both the server and my local machine (WinXP SP2). I am able to use VMRC+ as user "A" just fine both locally and remotely. I then added users "B" and "C" to the local administrators group on the server. Users "B" and "C" can connect with VMRC+ locally, but are not able to do so remotely. They both get "Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT : 0x80070005 (E_ACCESS DENIED))". All users and machines are part of the same domain. I've verified that local administrators have full permission to the directory in which my virtual machines are stored. I've also tried adding users "B" and "C" to the Distributed COM Users group. Are there any other workarounds for this issue?

Using VMRC+, I can configure a VM to run under a specified account, but cannot un-configure it once it's been set. Tried this repeatedly on multiple VS hosts locally and remotely with same results. All are running WIN2K3 SP2 with Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1. Originally I didn't have the VS Admin website installed - only VMRC+ 1.7.0 - but added it later to verify that I could make the change via the Admin web site.

Specifics: Under a VM's properties, on the Startup/Shutdown tab, check 'Run this virtual machine with specified account'. Enter credentials and startup options, and click ok. Returning to this screen, you can uncheck the box and click Apply, but when you go back into this screen, the box is still checked and credentials are still present.

The code calls the discard method and disks are always discarded when I try.

For the access issue (lanceheld) you should send me mail so I can get more details.

Not being able to 'unset' the account of the VM (RussT post) is a bug.

I will fix this.

this is a wonderful program! I have one problem/question though.

When I try to connect from a remote computer with the regular vrmc I'm prompted for credentials, then everything is working fine.

vmrc plus doesn't ask me for creadentials it simp;ly gives me this error:

Virtual server returned 'access denied (code 0)

You may have insuficient privilges to access to connect a virtual server

Is there a way to supply the credentials?

Thanks

Daniel

alternate credentials are not supported in VMRCplus. Technically, it is but requires serious rewrite.

Please read the other posts on this subject.

If you want, send me mail with your issues (if any).
