I am new to MS Vserver and am looking forward to using this new app.

I am running a Dell Optiplex 745, MS 2003R2 SP2 64bit.

I installed MS Vserver -64bit version- and the 64bit version of VMRCplus 1.6.0.

It all seems to go well untill I try to start VMRCplus. It crashed with the error "Application failed to initialize properly "0xc0000135"".

I am looking forward to getting this working soon.

Regards, James

By editing the settings for example the memory size of a virtual machine the undo disk is deleted when the settings are applied. I've lost a lot of work this way recently.

Reproduction is easy:

1. Connect with VMRCPlus to localhost

2. Have a VM with undo disk enabled.

3. Start it once to have an undo disk file created. 4. Shut down the machine.

5. Go the to VMRCPlus and edit the settings of the VM.

6. Change the memory size then press OK. As a result the undo disk file is deleted.

I guess this is not a normal behavior.

Otherwise the tool is nice.

I start with a virtual server with a single virtual SCSI C drive w/ undo disk enabled.

I start this server, and install a few programs, and then shut it down. The parent disk is unchanged, the undo disk has grown by a couple hundred MBs.

I then decide I want to add a second HD to the virtual, so I create a new D drive, and then assign it as another SCSI virtual disk.

I then start the VM up again, and notice that it does not have the programs that I have previously installed. The undo disk is still ~200mb large, but if I try to commit the files, it quickly shrinks down to 0mb, and I have still lost the changes. VERY annoying.

If I commit the undo disk before changing the virtual hardware, then everything works. The MS virtual server admin website lets me change hardware without trashing the undo disk though.

I really like it better than the MS gui, but those dropped undo disks really hurt my confidence. Any ideas?

The script started from the URL '/VirtualServer/VSWebApp.exe' with parameters 'view=1' has not responded within the configured timeout period. The HTTP server is terminating the script.

Rebooting the server did not rectify the problem so

I have install VMRCplus 1.6.0 on the server running virtual server but when I try to connect to local host I get the following error:

Exception from HRESULT: 0X80040202

Here is the my config:

Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 with SP2 and Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1. There are two VMs running.

VM 1 is Windows Server 2003 R2 x86 with SP2, IIS and SQL Server 2005. VM 2 is Windows XP SP2 (this is the machine that is not responding or starting up) Both MVs are set to start automatically 2 minutes after the Virtual Server.

Any ideas on why VMRCplus will not connect? Is there some other way to stop the XP VM from starting automatcally?

Thanks,
