Getting TechNet-ical: Understanding Exchange ActiveSync Mailbox policies

Perhaps one of the most common question I get asked by technical sales reps and IT managers is "what new policies do I get when I upgrade to Exchange Server 2007?" Since I'm not nearly as technical as my friends that write over at TechNet.com, I'll defer to them with this link. I highly recommend checking out this link and recommending that your customers read it as well. To summarize here is my good, better best scenario for a customer that is interested in deploying Windows Mobile 6.1 devices with little to no additional investment in their infrastructure:

Best:   Owns and has deployed Exchange Server 2007 SP1 with the Enterprise CAL

Best:   Has a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner host Exchange Server 2007SP1 for them
Better: Owns and has deployed Exchange Server 2007 SP1 with Standard CAL
Good:  Owns rights to upgrade to Exchange Server 2007 but is running Exchange Server 2003SP2
Ok:      Owns Exchange Server 2003 SP2 but no upgrade rights to Exchange Sever 2007
