UK IASA Event: Confessions of an Architect

The UK IASA group is really starting to take shape and we are scheduled to run our next open event on the 19th September. Please send an email if you'd like to attend and see below for more details on the event.

Confessions of an Architect

Microsoft Offices, 10 Great Pulteney Street, London

19th September, 18:00-21:00

18:00–18:30: Arrival

18:30–18:45: Introduction
Quick update on the IASA both local and global

18:45–20:00: Confessions of an Architect
The event will primarily focus on the role of the architect; what do we actually do? Four lucky architects will volunteer to “spill the beans” on what they actually get up to all day long. During which time we will look to draw parallels that can then be applied against a generic model. Scary stuff, which is bound to end in a disagreement or two! But definitely worth watching and maybe throwing in a probing question or two from the floor!

20:00–20:30: Turning the Tables
After all this soul searching, it is time to turn the screw on these guys and prod that little bit deeper! However, the aim is to see our similarities and not to reassert our differences.

20:30–20:45: Break

20:45–21:00: The verdict!
So what can we learn from all this effort? Is architecture still a mystery, understood only by a select few? Or can we start to determine a few constants that we all share in common besides ego? Can this start to form the foundation of a profession?
