Obama-synth
Bit of an Obama theme going on at the moment, however I’m loving how the the event is showcasing some really cool Microsoft technology. If you haven’t come across it, Photosynth allows you to take a group of pictures, and stitch them together to create a 360° view of a scene, or in this case, Barack Obama’s inauguration. The scene is then represented using Silverlight, and can be panned, tilted and zoomed.
In the above example, pictures were taken from a number of different sources during the inauguration (using amateur photos), and uploaded to the CNN website. Photosynth then stitched these together to create the view. Take a look at the CNN version, or you can see other synthed versions of the inauguration. You can also create your own synths!
