Are you sure that the AMD Turion 64 X2 has the hardware virtualization support required by Hyper-V? If you're not sure, give this tool a spin to check.

vsletten- I too have the identical system and the tool you provided does say that my laptop is Hyper-v compliant.

Although the bcdedit does fix the freezing on boot up- I still can't get VMs to start. Anyone found a work around?

Hi Martin, i've got the same problema with the Dell Latitude D531! Did you find any alternative solutions to solve this issue?
