Martin Buckley - on systems management

Blogging about systems management - with a partner twist.
SCCM 2007 SP1 single server installation to Windows Server 2008

I’m working on a doc that walks through installing SCCM 2007 SP1 onto Windows Server 2008.

There are a few hoops to jump through – mostly around getting IIS up to shape – but it’s close. I’m trying to use a PowerShell script to get the IIS pieces in place.

The intended audience is for ISVs and other partners who intend to develop and test against SCCM – but really it’s for anyone who needs to get a good quality demo in place on their own servers.

(There are several pre-built VHDs available too – I’ll link to all of the demo resources in my next post)

Why don't you do a comparison between ZCM and SCCM?

Theres no compare. If you are looking at the ZenWorks new vresion it cant play.

** not scaling- only 1,000 machines on a ZCM server

** thousands of bugs

** slow on the login

** reinstall for upgrade- you should just remove it and use Configuration Manageer

ZCM 10.1 still has many bugs, very slowly login and the Zen Adaptive client very easily terminate for no reason.
