So what's-up with this new "sharepoint.microsoft.com" URL? Will MSDN & TechNet users be converted to this new service?

Some MSDN/TechNet bloggers will move over as early adopters since the new MOSS-based environment is still in pilot mode. There are still many kinks to be worked out. More will likely move over after we get Passport/LiveID integration done in about 6-8 weeks. But until we provide some way of migrating existing content (which is currently not in my plans or budget), I doubt that the majority will move over.

The new blog environment is *not* meant to be a direct replacement of the existing blog environment.
