Windows Hyper-V disponible

Dicen que no hay plazo que no se cumpla y deuda que no se pague, mejor es cuando ocurre antes :)

A partir de hoy, Junio 26 está disponible Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V, tal como anunciamos para la liberación de Windows Server 2008 en Febrero, dentro de los primeros 180 días se liberaría la versión final de nuestra nueva plataforma de virtualización. 

El sitio oficial es www.microsoft.com/hyper-v, donde podrán bajar la versión final de Hyper-V. Adicionalmente, pueden bajar las máquinas virtuales ya listas en http://microsoft.com/vhd donde encontraran los discos virtuales listos de:

Hyper V a diferencia de Virtual PC, está incluido dentro del kernel de Windows Server 2008, o sea ahora se podrá usar un Sistema Operativo, obviamente soportado por Hyper V sin necesidad de instalar un programa virtualizador externo.

¿Es eso?

Efectivamente, Hyper-V tienen un ,hypervisor que permite correr a nivel de kernel y con la virtualización asistida por hardware no necesitas emular el hardware para los sistemas operativos que instalen. Ya que usarán un bus de conexión directa.

Hyper-V no soporta Windows NT pero si puedes usarlo como cliente en Virtual Server 2005 R2.

para poder instalar el rol de Hyper-V tienes que tener una edición de 64 bits ya que para poder ejecutarse necesita de esa arquitectura.

Hyper-V sólo se puede usar en Windows Server 2008 version de 64 bits o en Windows Hyper-V Server.
