The New Business Intelligence and Unified Communications Competencies Have Launched!

Announcing the launch of the new Business Intelligence Competency and the new Unified Communications Solutions Competency! The Partner Portal went live last week in 15 languages, on 63 portals worldwide.

This was a significant, customer demand-driven launch. It improved alignment of the Partner Program with these key strategic growth areas of the business, and will accelerate our growth into these highly competitive markets. We can now better align, segment and enable our partners to deliver industry-leading BI and UC solutions to our customers.

The BI Compentency has been split into the platform specialization, and the performance management specialization.

Microsoft Business Intelligence

We are in the process of planning actions for our next fiscal year (being FY09, starting in July CY08, which is pretty soon).

FY09 will be very exciting in terms of what we are going to do with our Business Intelligence offering. And we will need it, because way too often I am confronted with customers/prospects that don't even know that Microsoft is active in the BI space! Especially our last-year-released Performance Management product (PerformancePoint Server) will be drawing a lot of attention - I think primarily in the space of Budgetting & Planning.
