Only a handful of objects are actually discovered within SCOM. The hotfix is applied as above. Can't find anything common on the objects discovered correctly.

WMI errors were resolved with the new MP 3.1 A01...

I have loaded this MP along with several patches and such. The first time, it created way more errors than it fixed it seemed. (Although it wasn't breaking SMI.) I have found the best way to use this MP is to get rid of all the "Unnessecary" rules/monitors ect. The Dell MP uses alot of SNMP calls to the Dell OM software on each agent. It's doing this way too much, (Thus the WMI fix...) and isn't entirely nessecary. I've used the MP listed here:

http://www.scom2k7.com/my-nightmare-experience-with-the-new-dell-management-pack-31-a01/

which did remove alot of the SNMP calls and then I one upped it by removing all the Dell Printer Rules/Discovery/Monitors ect since I monitor a Datacenter where there are no printers.

Thus far, the MP is not making much noise and the WMI errors are not popping up. (Although I need to update alot of systems to the 5.4 OM software still...) I still get all the info I need, System errors/DRAC info/Hardware faults.

I've asked Dell to release the MPs for servers and printers separately, but nothing came of that.

However we only have about 6 out of 50 servers that have 5.3 or above Openmanage. The rest are 5.1/5.2. I have updated some of the servers to 5.4 and 5.5. The systems then appear. However the Storage Health will not populate. It all looks fine within openmanage itself. But cannot get it to work. It works find on the same type of server, but built with openmanage 5.4. Any ideas?

I'd also encourage people to ensure they have KB954643 installed as well as KB951526 which is already noted. Prior to installing '643 I had the Dell discoveries running on Virtual/VMWare clients, after MP removal, patching, MP import...all good.

Hope that helps some.....

Cheers,

Export the MP to xml using mptoxml, open the xml using notepad and go to line 3171, change this:

If (UBound(valueArray) <> 21) Then

to

If (UBound(valueArray) <> 25) Then

We upgraded all servers to OM 5.5 before loading this MP and it worked perfectly.

The script use a numeric separator with a Hard Code , if you are not In US regional setting , the script DellStorageDiscovery.vbs failed.

To correct this you need to use a US regionnal setting with the Action Agent Account

SO create a Action Account on the domaine , use this account like a RunAs Account , set the account on the Dell serveur with the a New RunASprofil , and open a session on the DELL server with this account and set the regionnal settings with US. Verify that all it's correct.

I have installed or upgraded OMSA on theses server. But I still have a problem, new installed OMSA are dectected as Dell Monolithic Server, but upgraded servers stay in "Unknown" with the message "Please upgrade OMSA to 5.3 or above from support.dell.com"

How I can reset the group membership for this MP ?

Thanks for your help,
