Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 RC
SP1 RC is releasing on/around Nov 5 for public consumption (customers will be able to download it from the Connect site with links provided from the main Microsoft.com OpsMgr product site).
The SP1 RC will be available in two languages US English and Japanese, and in two packages the slipstreamed Evaluation version and an upgrade package(existing RTM version product upgrade). Both are able to be upgraded to SP1 RTM come the full release next February.
This RC will *only* upgrade from the OpsMgr 2007 RTM build (Build #5000). It will not upgrade the IDS build (build# 6072). So please do not attempt to upgrade IDS build environments. It will fail. Rather, please fully uninstall those environments prior to moving forward with your SP1 RC deployments. Again, the SP1 RC *will* upgrade to the final RTM build of SP1 – so the issue with IDS not upgrading does not apply to this RC build. http://connect.microsoft.com
Recent Management Pack Releases
New MP’s and updated MP’s are available on the Operations Manager Catalog. New this month include Server Virtualization, DHCP Server, Exchange 2007, MOM 2005 backwards compatibility, AD federation, Computer clusters, Live Communications Server 2005, and the Windows Server 2003 Operating System.

New tools
