For me the most powerfull windows mobile 6.1 device for bussines purposes is HTC Touch Pro here http://www.htc.com/www/product/touchpro/specification.html or HTC Touch HD for someone who do not like qwerty keyboard.

re: The best Windows Mobile 6.1 phone on the market?

If you get the chance, get some hands on the Nokia e71. I was pleasently surprised. I was testing the iPhone at the time and didnt think there was anything out there that could touch it (no pun intended). The Nokia is pretty darn close, if not better, depending on your needs. Phones are such a subjective thing it is hard to say what is "best." I had tried the Treo 800w and did not like it at all, but I am told the Pro is *much* better. I will be curious to see if you still like it after some quality hands-on time. Give us an update later on will you?

re: The best Windows Mobile 6.1 phone on the market?

Maybe I should have qualified the title further and said "in the US". I would probably have the HTC Touch HD if it was offered here.

For me, I just won't be impressed with a smart phone that doesn't change the channels on my tv and open my garage door, as well as play music.

What I would REALLY like is a docking station so I can use a real KVM and then RDP out - replace this dumb terminal with my tech phone. Now that would be cool.

re: The best Windows Mobile 6.1 phone on the market?

I haven't really given up. I would have liked to have the HTC Touch HD or Samsung Omnia but time ran out. I have 4 weeks of solid travel coming so I decided to make the plunge until something more compelling comes along.

I do not see any good improvements with new versions. Got problems with mails on exchange server and all the things about signing sis files before install, it is just boring and i hate it. Also making a VPN connection with Nokia E series is something unthinkable. Nokia E series are just phones for managers with no special needs. If you want real functionality of manager phone you will do better to buy Windows Mobile device.

for Keith Combs

you know Keith, you are famous all over the world ;-) You want to buy HTC Touch HD here ? ;-) no seriously this two devices are the best, also Samsung Omnia or Sony Ericcson Xperia X1 are great. I did not realized that in US is no distribution of new HTC devices, because i saw many people on XDA-developers.com web with this kind of stuff.
