5 Ways to Get More Out of Your MSDN and TechNet Library Experience
The online libraries on MSDN and TechNet are among the most used sites on our network. Here's some great ways to get the most out of your Library experience.
- Bookmark it: Create your own personal library and share it using MSDN Social and TechNet Social to bookmark library articles you think are the best. See the Tools page for our browser “bookmarklet” (highlighted below). The “social” part is that you get to see what other people are bookmarking, and subscribe to the smart ones.
- Find Code: MSDN Code Search Preview is a new specialized search tool for code samples that helps you find code on MSDN. Our Preview release searches across the MSDN Library. Good intro post on it from Rob Veliz. Try it out and let us know what you think in our Search Feedback Forum.
- Site Search: If you haven't tried MSDN Search and TechNet Search out recently, you should. We've added a great auto-complete feature and Refinements to help focus your search on key resources like Forums, the Library, and Blogs.
- Low-band: Try out the skinny low-band version of the libraries - it doesn't have all the features, but it is faster. Here's a great blog post from MVP Jon Galloway on it.
- Community Content: Have something to add? Use the Community Content feature (see right side of Library home page) to annotate any library article and tag it. The Community Content feature can be found at the bottom of every article page.
You can also easily subscribe to a tag-filtered feed to stay up-to-date on annotations in your area of interest or subscribe to a feed of annotations to a specific article.
