Forgive me for being dense but what does re-distribution rights of virtual server mean in practice? Is this about being licenced to create virtual images of machines and configurations and then distribute them to others?

Hi Peter - the redistribution rights refer to being able to distribute Virtual Server itself on a CD or website, as examples. It's not about the distribution of VHDs with OS's on it. Currently you can distribute OS images on VHDs if you have redist rights for the OS installed in the image, however no such rights exist for Microsoft OS's. This will hopefully come in time and I'll post up any info if it becomes reality.
