Hyper-V: RTM available on Windows Update

Just a quick note to mention that Hyper-V RTM (KB950050) was made available on Windows Update yesterday.

See here for more information on the RTM release. Note that the Vista SP1 management tools are not currently available through Windows Update and need to be upgraded seperately.

It's a "recommended" update.

WSUS RTM

Cheers,
John.

Are the integration components going to be delivered/updated via Windows Update. Also, what is the schedule on keeping these updated?

Roy - vmguest.iso is delivered as part of KB950050 and will be present on the file system of a parent partition running Hyper-V. For Windows Server 2008 virtual machines which also take KB950050, these Integration Services will be automatically upgraded to RTM version. All other operating systems (including Vista SP1) require re-installation of the Integration Services by running setup.exe from VMGuest.iso. I can't speak to how Integration Services will be delivered for future releases at this time though.

Cheers,

John.
