"Idiots guide to Server Core" (aka Server Core Installation Option of Windows Server 2008 Step-By-Step Guide)
More for my own reference, as I keep having to search the Internet for this document and never bookmark it. If you want to know all those useful little commands to manage Server Core installations of Windows Server 2008, this is the place to go - the Windows Server 2008 step-by-step guides. As you know by now, Hyper-V is available as a role in server core installations, so it's worth pointing you to this ahead of the soon to be published part 3 of my blog series "Hyper-V Remote Management: You do not have the requested permission to complete this task. Contact the administrator of the authorization policy for the computer ‘COMPUTERNAME’". Parts 1 and 2 are here.
There's quite a few other guides up on the download page - the WDS one is handy as I've been playing with WDS in Hyper-V virtual machines over the past week or so.
Cheers,
John.
