HAYABUSA - Back to the Earth -

全天周映像「HAYABUSA - Back to the Earth-」が来月から公開されますが、その一部が You Tube で公開されています。

この素晴らしい画像は、実は日本アイビーエムの Computing on Demand システムである IBM CoD 上の Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 上でレンダリングされています！これについては日本アイビーエムからプレスリリースが出ていて、マイクロソフトも協力しています。本編では最後にマイクロソフトのロゴも出るようです。

今回の成果は、ちょうど一年前の2008年3月27日に日本アイビーエムと共同出展した東京国際アニメフェアで発表したオンデマンドの High Performance Computing システムによる分散並列レンダリングを利用したものです。

その時行われたプレスカンファレンスで私の上司の五十嵐さんが言ったことがまさに現実になり、こういう素晴らしい成果に結びついたのはうれしいです。
