Hi Greg - I take it you're not getting 6 seconds from sleep with your machine... I've got a new Lenovo laptop which comes up from sleep in about 6 seconds - what hardware are you running?

Here in my Vista setup, I resume from Sleep in about 5-6 seconds too... And it´s a self-made machine, with installed Vista by myself. I´m pretty happy with Vista so far, and I´m using it for about 10 months now...

Great to hear Andre - i do find that it's even quicker on a newly built machine with no apps running when you goto sleep, but that's to be expected.

Why would anyone with 512mb pay a price premium for flash memory fast enough to work with ReadyBoost instead of just buying some cheap RAM instead?

That whole list is a joke and I actually like vista.

I'm having a lot of problems upgrading to Vista Ultimate on a new laptop. The process is very complex and I'm not getting any helpful support from HP or Microsoft.

Hi Alphonse

There's a couple of reasons why actually:

* One off need for a bit more RAM - e.g. an infrequently used app demands more RAM

* Temporary boost of RAM before a PC Refresh

* User doesn't know how to add RAM but can put a flash drive in a USB slot

Sorry you find the whole list a joke - perhaps you could share some of the things you like in Vista? I particularly like the fact that with Vista I'm 60% less likely to get a virus or malware compared to XP SP2.
