Microsofts neues Backup & Restore Tool
Mit System Center DPM 2010 geht Microsofts Backup & Restore Produkt in die nächste Runde. Neben etlichen Detailverbesserungen und noch besserer Skalierung kamen auch viele neue Datenquellen hizu, die geschützt werden können. Eine detaillierte Liste findet sich unter http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/dataprotectionmanager/en/us/2010beta-overview.aspx, aber einige Highlights sind sicherlich Dynamics AX 2009 (an dessen Umsetzung ich maßgeblich mitgewirkt hatte) und SAP running on SQL.
Kombiniert mit der wie immer äußerst attraktiven Lizenzierung (ohne Datenvolumenbegrenzung) sollte der DPM nirgendwo fehlen. Die aktuelle Beta kann kostenlos heruntergeladen werden. Und auf der Teched Berlin im November werden einige Sessions dieses neue Tool im Detail vorstellen.
