&lt;p&gt;So later we decided to trust in isa (2006) as the only firewall protecting our new public access sites (12 millions of page views per month). It is working good, we just had 2 iussues:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1) the &amp;quot;referring server&amp;quot; in logs made service crash&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2) the http compression bug forced us not to allow compression&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;we are still at SP1 for windows 2003&lt;/p&gt;
