Excellent post! Really would like to hear more details on the Anywhere Access feature! Do clients use Remote Desktop over the Internet? Can you access any PC within the home network? FTP access to files?

before I ask "why doesn't it do foo", I have a "does it do foo" question ... does it include a web server for creating publicly visible sites (preferably with ASP.NET support)? I've searched the documentation, and can't find the answer, which I suspect means it isn't there.

if it does include IIS then I am very excited about windows home server. if not, then I am just slightly excited (the backup stuff is very cool).

Yes, Windows Home Server includes IIS.

I know I haven't read everything on WHS yet, but I do notice that very little, if anything is mentioned about the security of the server. It seems that for a product that Microsoft believes families will be putting important records (financial, health, insurance, etc.) on, security issues ought to be mentioned front and center.

WHS is a life saver, with a Wife, 3 Kids, Cat & Dog, and a 24x7x365 job a an ISP, this is the way to manage the Home Network. The KISS approach is the correct one to get the product RTM ASAP, there will be time to add important stuff that Pop & Man need. For now geek stuff only complicates the product.
