An update to the KB article was posted today that provides more information regarding symptoms,

Microsoft Warns Home Server Users Not to Write to Server or Use Media Managers

Acknowledging the "data corruption bug" that's been ravaging Windows Home Servers since Christmas, Microsoft today warned users NOT to: • "Use applications to directly edit or change files stored on Windows Home Server" • "Use media management

Because if it's strongly suggested to not do anything of the above, it's not really a storage server.

I was planning on installing a second hard drive in my WHS, but I'm thinking of holding off now. Since I do use applications to directly alter files stored on my home server.

The june fix date for this hotifx is only provisional and could take longer, it seems daft to make people wait that long to get all the additional functionality of PP1 in the mean time.

Todd Headrick has asked if you should do this on the Home Server forums;

http://forums.microsoft.com/windowshomeserver/showpost.aspx?postid=2980524&siteid=50&sb=0&d=1&at=7&ft=11&tf=0&pageid=0

The overwhelming opinion so far has been "Yes, release the powerpack now"

So is this going to happen now please???
