Web Comic International Flavor
One of our goals for the web comic is to spotlight IT Pros and Developers around the world. As our heroes hop scotch across the continents, their adventures will be drawn by artists who are from or reflect the country they are visiting, in an artistic style native to that region or appropriate to the theme.
This week we present a smorgasbord of artists, starting with Monday’s installment. Albert Carreres Guardia hails from Spain and you already encountered him during our adventures in Canada. Albert's most recent work is Hand7 for France’s Les Humanoides Associates.
Tuesday and Wednesday we spotlight Connecticut’s Christopher Gugliotti, an artist and graphic designer who illustrated Warrior Nun Areala: No Justice For Innocents and is now drawing a miniseries for DC Comics imprint Wildstorm. Chris also designed our IT/Dev Heroes' uniforms and distinctive logo t-shirts!
Thursday will be a real treat as Dick Giordano joins us for a special strip. A native of the Bronx, Giordano has been working as an artist, editor and executive since the 1950s. He may be best recalled for his collaborations on Batman and Green Lantern with fellow artist Neal Adams and writer Denny O'Neil. We were thrilled to find a hole in his schedule. Since the comic harkens back to an earlier era, Dick brings a classic 50's Romance comics style vibe to our hero Steve's backstory. He is abetted by longtime Batman colorist Adrienne Roy, who provides an old-fashioned palette to complete the look.
On Friday we kick off our trip to England and introduce the work of UK artist Adrian Bamforth, whose illustrations have graced the pages of Britain's illustrious comic anthology 2000 A.D.!"
In future posts, we'll tell you about illustrators Rick Burchett, Joe Ng and Mateus Santolouco and the distinctive team of colorists at Udon, plus letterer Rob Leigh and our behind the scenes editorial staff.
Meanwhile, keep posted -- and make sure to submit YOUR story at www.ITDevcomics.com
