I had to read that a few times...

I don't understand the logic of 'printing out a receipt' meaning that it is marked as 'unpaid'???

So is Steve about to click on a little 'Paid' icon? Is that the point?

Or is it that he doesn't know what an Etagere is, making him sound dumb, and Poor Merry must be dumb if she can't click on a "paid' link by herself....?

In response to Peter: I'm one of the writers on the strip and wanted to respond. The receipt indicates the item was sold. Merry completed the sale, printed the receipt indicating it but when she went back later the auction site indicates it's unsold. This particular point will become important later in the story. Sorry if it wasn't completely clear, but I hope this makes more sense now.

This is one of my favorite strips. A good looking old-tech woman with a bear shaped new-tech husband. They're able to keep their different worlds together. When I read the third frame, she says "I printed out the reciept," with the words "last night" implied.
