Did the art suddenly start making the blonde guy look like a fish, or is it just me? :-)

Wow... this is the worst artwork I've ever seen... I almost wanted to throw up when I saw it.

They look like cheap scarecrows.

I agree with Jon L.  I've been interested with the series but the constant change in artists (however subtle) has been really annoying to me.  I'm considering removing it from my feeds because the art today is SO horendous. Also, the fact that you never seem to have a consistent post time for the comics.

I thought today's strip was dream sequence using voodoo dolls or zombies.

Isn't it strange that the IP address of the restaurant's webserver is 192.168.1.1? Shouldn't it be a public one? ;-)

I agree with Tux - using an IP usually used by routers for their intranet address seems a bit of a mistake when it's being done by IT pros! :P

I disagree. I find the various artists' interpretations refreshing. Also, I think 192.168.1.1 is like the (555) 555-5555 of the interweb.

But yes, I suppose this artist makes me think, "If I only had a brain..."

Art is subjective; I think this guy's art is cool.  The reason people are reacting negatively is that it's jarring to see the same characters drawn in very different styles.  Especially when we're not yet used to the comic.

It would be cool *later* in the series, once everyone is totally accustomed to a single basic style.  Check this out:

Would have been jarring on the 8th week, but after a dozen seasons it's cool!

As for 192.168.1.1, WTF?  That's as irritating as listing a 9-digit phone number in a comic for Telephone engineers.  It's self-referential -- when I read that I was expecting him to cook or to have food with him.

A great way to do it would have been to use 127.0.0.1, and have him invite everyone over to his house for food.

Or if you wanted to make another Microsoft-style attempt at l33tness, you could have used IPv6.

Anything but The World's Most Common LAN Address being given as the IP of a public website.  Ouch.

Wow.  I knew that eventually it would HAVE to get funny, but I never thought it would be the artwork that would make me literally laugh out loud.  Well done... well done.

ok as for jalarmo , the simpsons have nothin to do with this. I mean i dont ind the artist changing but this is ridiculous! i mean comon! these characters look like zombies/fish/dolls !    And Yes shouldn't the ip address be a pulic one to actually give directions!? 192.168.1.1 is a private ip address used by almost all router around the world! hey even MY computer is 192.168.1.2 !

I don't think the art should be the primary focus. I can think of many comics with weak art but a great sense of wit ( example: XKCD ). The main issue is factual inaccuracies and the comic is just boring. I suppose the logical thing to do is not to read the it anymore, but I find the comments entertaining ;)

He he, I just reaad the comic to see the comments. Its the only good thing about it lol

Steve has never tested a website remotely.

Next time you give an IP, give the IP of the server hosting the image.

What the heck is wrong with the IP address?  Has anyone never heard of the hosting server being in a DMZ?  Or if it's a restaurant, it may be hosted on site and may be using a dynamic DNS service so the only reliable IP would be the server's internal IP.

And if you want to get REALLY technical, you never give an IP address when talking about a website.  Because of HTTP 1.1 and multi site hosting off of one IP address, it's really the GET request of the HTTP 1.1 protocol that would determine the actual content you get.  Most times going to the IP address would result in a generic error page stating to use a browser which is 1.1 compliant.

You guys are trying to read waaay too deep into this- It's a frickin joke.
