The HD DVD Insider is a blog by and for HD DVD consumers and enthusiasts. In this forum, we will provide an insider’s perspective on the nitty gritty of VC-1 and HDiTM, and why and how they’re used to deliver the HD DVD experience. We want to put a personal face on the people who passionately believe in HD DVD and have spent years working to bring this great HD consumer experience to market.

Ben Waggoner is relatively new to Microsoft, but is an old hand in the digital media world. At Microsoft, he’s a Senior Program Manager, and when he’s not working on the HD DVD blog, he works with content and tool companies making sure that great content can be easily published in VC-1 and WMV. Previously, he was principal of Interframe Media, a digital media consultancy, and Director of Consulting Services for Media 100 and Terran Interactive. He’s also the author of CMP Books’ “Compression for Great Digital Video.”
Ben lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife and three children, and wishes he had time to watch more HD after spending his days making it.
