It seems there are lots of ways to view Performance Point Server 2007, whether it be via online training, web casts, product demonstrations. I would certainly recommend playing with the software yourself. A great way to make your own mind up about the technology is to install it and play with it in your own time (that space between work and sleep) :-) Not being a technical person at all, I shy away from all the gizmo's and gadgets and technical terminology you can now have access to. The nice thing about Performance Point is once installed it really is a case of clicking through the Office look and feel to get what you want. That even I can do it.

If, however, downloading a full product isn't your bag, I would suggest viewing one of the many product demonstrations available on the PPS web site. http://www.microsoft.com/business/performancepoint/resources/demos.aspx They are a great way of seeing what the product can do and the many ways you can put together a dashboard.
