Preventing SPAM with Caller ID
As part of the Coordinated Spam Reduction Initiative (CSRI), Microsoft is pushing to get introduced as a standard Caller ID for e-mail. They are not working alone on this. They are working with Amazon.com, Brightmail, and Sendmail and expect that this will be widely adopted.. Hotmail has already implemented part of this by publishing externally on their DNS servers the outgoing email servers and expect to be checking inbound email addresses by this summer.
