Ebbene sì, finalmente ache quest’anno siamo arrivati a metà giugno, alla fine del nostro Fiscal Year e soprattutto………….a due settimane di meritate (almeno, spero!) vacanze!!!!!!
Voglio però lasciarvi con la segnalazione di una nuova versione del nostro Mailbox Server Role Storage Requirements Calculator; siamo arrivati alla release 14.7 e questa volta abbiamo delle importanti novità; è stato introdotto un nuovo sheet dedicato allo Storage Design

New Features - Storage Design
In the past, the mailbox storage calculator only provided capacity and I/O requirements for the design. With this release, the mailbox storage calculator includes a new worksheet, Storage Design. The Storage Design worksheet allows you to select the disk types and capacities you would like to use in your environment. The calculator will determine the appropriate RAID configuration and the number disk spindles you need that meet your capacity and performance requirements. The key features are:
- You can select the type of parity grouping mechanism your storage utilizes.
- You can deploy a specific RAID configuration (RAID-0, RAID-1/0, RAID-5, or RAID-6).
- You can select the rebuild overhead penalty you would like to build into your configuration.
- You can compare up to 3 different disk types/capacities to ensure that you are utilizing the best configuration while reducing the number of spindles.
Important: The Storage Design worksheet is not designed for any particular storage vendor, and as such, you should validate the design not only with your storage vendor, but by utilizing stress and load generation tools before production implementation
