Technet article on new Recover Mailbox Data wizard in Exchange 2003 SP1

I completely forgot to post this link when it first went live in mid-July! Better late than never, have a look at my Technet article on the new "Recover Mailbox Data wizard" introduced in Exchange 2003 SP1. This is the new feature built-into the Exchange System Manager GUI that allows you to bypass Exmerge when using Recovery Storage groups to do data recovery.

Others have covered it to various degrees (see here, and here, and here, and here).. but if you're still hungry for more on the topic, please have a look at the Technet site.

This is one of the coolest additions in SP1...
The pitty is, that this feature has a bug: I doesn't work when the name of the mailbox to recover includes a comma...(i.e. Dodds, Evan). I hope there will be a fix
BEFORE SP2 of EX2003...

Christian -

I anticipate this will be fixed in Exchange 2003 SP2. In addition, you can call PSS and request hotfix KB.883419 to address this issue on Exchange 2003 SP1.

Hey, this is a private KB. I actually blogged about it back on Sept 4th. I put up the link to the download (even though I know that is not following procedure) but I think that link has since expired anyway. I have the download if you need it. jcook@ccs5000.com

The link is here.
