Firstly, thanks to everyone to attended our Innovation Day in Manchester earlier this week. It was great to meet so many committed Empower Members!

So, today I wanted to address the subject of Partner Points as there seems to be a great deal of confusion surrounding this issue.

The question I regularly get asked is "If I need 50 Partner Points to become Certified and get my application tested (which gives me 20 points), where are the other 30 points going to come from?"

Answer:

Microsoft Platform Test (2 components) = 2 x 10 = 20 points

3 Customer References (2 points each) = 2 x 3 = 6 points

You will then have earned the ISV competency and would be eligible for the following additional points:

Qualification of a competency = 30 points

Bonus for achieving first competency = 20 points

Grand Total = 76 Points

So, you will therefore have more than the 50 points required and can upgrade to Certified Partner via the 'upgrade now' button in the Partner Portal. Job Done!
