Missing Drafts folder in Outlook 2007

I’ve been mystified all week.  I’ve lost my Drafts folder in Outlook 2007.  I know it’s there, hidden somewhere in my profile as if I try to create a new folder, then I’m told that another folder already exists with the same name.  I’ve tried searching for it but get nothing.  But this morning I thought I’d start to think laterally instead and looked towards creating a new search folder to find all of my draft emails.

Then you need to select the Create a custom search folder option

Give the Search folder a name  like Drafts and click the criteria button.  Then select the Field:all mail fields: In Folder

Change the condition to contains or is (exactly) and the value to Drafts and it appears in the search folder – with all of your draft files (hopefully not too many)

Right click on the folder and click on Add to Favourite folders

and it’s there where you can look at it.  So At leas I can find those mails I was half way through before I got distracted – and I’m sure someone reading this will tell me how to get my main Drafts folder visible again.  Probably by some complex Powershell script, I’ll bet :-)
